These changes only apply to properties in England. The Coronavirus Act 2020 (Residential Tenancies: Protection from Eviction) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020 which came into force on 29 August extended notice periods to six months and, to negate a clash with the Deregulation Act 2015, sought to give a new shelf life to the default notice of 10 months from service.
