The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016

The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 (the Act) has been a bit of a slow burner. The Act was passed just over six years ago in January 2016. There have been 13 different sets of legislation since then. Some have amended the original Act; others provide supplementary provisions and some were to do with the tenant fees legislation for Wales. This was because the tenant fees legislation anticipated that the Act would be in force and referred only to Occupation Contacts, which are what will replace tenancies in most instances.
