The Non-resident Landlord (NRL) Scheme – Non-managed landlords, tenants and penalties
In the first article we looked at the scheme in relation to agents and their landlords’ managed portfolios as well as some tell-tale signs that action may be required. We will now consider the scheme in relation to non-managed portfolios of landlord clients, their tenants and other third parties as well as penalties if it goes wrong. The scheme uses the word “letting agent” to mean anyone receiving rent on behalf of a landlord. The full definition is further down the article.
